Indiana Park Offers Lessons For The Fly Fishing Beginner
New fly fishing enthusiasts, both young and old, can now benefit from a great instructional program that is being offered at a beautiful park in St. Joseph County, Indiana. Any fly fishing beginner can take advantage of these lessons over the next few months. Each Wednesday, a fly fishing group from St. Joseph River Valley has been providing tutorials with useful tips and information for anyone interested. The location for these lessons has been at Ferrettie/Baugo Park, which is located in Osceola, Indiana. These events are perfect for children who are interested in fly fishing but do not know a great deal about it. Todd Ezzell, a representative of the fly fishing group in St. Joseph County mentioned, “I think kids find it fascinating. The little bugs and catching fish on something like that.” Beginners will be explained the basics of the sport at each event, which includes setting up your own bait and how to properly cast. The different fish that can be caught at this park includes fresh salmon, trout and bass. The Baugo Creek, which is where participants will be fishing, connects to the St. Joseph River and it has an abundance of beautiful trails that run alongside of it. Also, once fishers are done hooking some trout they can partake in other fun activities like hiking, disc golf, canoeing, and swimming.
